It is good to see the days drawing out and the blossoms on the trees accompanied by the daffodils in the garden and that awesome display of flowers down the centre of Bealey Ave and other places about the city.
It was good to see some of the tenants from the units at Sandilands making the most of yesterdays sun after what has been a record wet winter for some places.
Good to hear of good numbers turning out for the pensioner lunch at the Richmond Club this week.
AGM
As promised in the July newsletter there is more information attached to this newsletter regarding the upcoming AGM which will be held at the Papanui RSA.
Date: Saturday October 15th
Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm
Reports from The President, Treasurer, Sandilands and on each of the Trusts will be emailed out prior to the meeting. The latest update from the accountant indicates that a pre audit set of accounts should be available.
The Strategic Planning meeting takes place this weekend and the results of that will also be available for either prior to, or at the meeting.
The bar will be open post meeting for those who would like to have a post meeting libation.
Opportunity to Volunteer
10th October 2022
Where: Papanui RSA
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Equipment: Sack barrow if you have one
Task: Moving the memorabilia and files stored at Papanui in their shed into our container for trans-shipment to Factory Rd with the other container of memorabilia.
Support Services
Starting on the 13th September and the 27th September there will be clinics held at the Papanui RSA where the District Support Advisers team will be available to conduct interviews with former service personnel and their immediate families. If you have health issues that are being attended to, or not, through VANZ, or you feel you might need some assistance, drop along and visit between 10:00 am and 12:00pm. While you are there you can uplift your card or renew your subscription.
These clinics will be available every month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays between 10:00am and 12:00pm.
If you need assistance in getting to Papanui, contact the office on 03 3799724, or email office@theoriginalrsa.org.nz the week prior to the clinic and we will see how we can assist you.

If you have done a hard copy you can mail it to PO Box 354 Christchurch 8140. Make sure it is there before the 15th of September or leave at Papanui RSA on a Tuesday or Thursday between 11:00am and 2:00pm
All surveys need to be completed by the 15th September so the results can be available by the AGM.

Gatherings
First Monday of the month, 1:30pm, the RNZAFA, (Canterbury Branch), meet at Wigram in one of the rooms.
Open to all ex-services, $2 gets a cup of tea and biscuit, general meeting type format followed by a guest speaker.
Last Friday of the month, 10:30am, a general gathering of former services personnel at Wigram coffee shop. All services, all eras, most welcome.
