Halfway through August here we go

The next instalment of news from the office. We hope you are all well and not flooded out after the recent rains. The good news is that the days are drawing out which means warmer weather is on the way.

AGM
The Executive have settled on the date of the upcoming AGM, the 15th of October, and more information will be forwarded as to location and times as we get closer to the day.
We are actively looking for executive committee members as we move out of the phase of dealing with the past and raise our heads up and start looking to the future.
At this point nearly all the positions on the executive from President, Vice President, Honorary Treasurer and executive committee members will be up for re-election.
Strategic Planning
The second strategy session takes place at the beginning of September and as a result of that there will be information produced to inform us about vision/direction for the future that will be available prior to the AGM.
The survey document mentioned at the beginning of the month is under construction and should be available for distribution by the 15th August of very close to. It is anticipated that we will have the results back and collated by the 1st October so members can review the results before the AGM.
Information gained from the survey will be melded into the strategic document.

Support Services
Starting in September on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month there will be clinics held at the Papanui RSA where the District Support Advisers team will be available to conduct interviews with former service personnel and their immediate families. If you have health issues that are being attended to, or not, through VANZ, or you feel you might need some assistance, drop along and visit between 10:00 am and 12:00pm.
These clinics will be available every month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays between 10:00am and 12:00pm.
If you need assistance in getting to Papanui, contact the office on 03 3799724, or email office@theoriginalrsa.org.nz the week prior to the clinic and we will see how we can assist you.

Gatherings
First Monday of the month, 1:30pm, the RNZAFA, (Canterbury Branch), meet at Wigram in one of the rooms.
Open to all services, $2 gets a cup of tea and biscuit, general meeting type format followed by a guest speaker.
Last Friday of the month, 10:30am, a general gathering of Veterans and others at Wigram coffee shop. All services, all eras, most welcome.
